About these pictures

Bet Ison
These pictures were taken between 1893 and 1917 in Texas, Iowa, Minnesota and Illinois by members of the Paul and Elina Paulson family. Paul and Elina immigrated to America from Sweden in late 1882. The family took numerous pictures of their daily life and surroundings both as a farm family in Calhoun County, Texas and, Chisago County, Minnesota and as urban dwellers in Davenport, Iowa. These pictures are a selection from about 450 glass negatives which have recently been digitized. They were originally scanned in pretty high resolution tif files, but have been downsized for this blog.
