Esther Maria Theresia Paulson, circa 1910

Esther Paulson (1894 to 1992), circa 1910,
A daughter of Elina and Paul Paulson, Esther Maria Theresia Paulson was born January 29th, 1894 in Olivia Texas, just a few short weeks after her sister, Lillie's death.  While Elina Paulson's parents, Anders and Bengta Swenson continued to live in Olivia until 1907, the Paulson family moved back to Davenport Iowa in 1895.  This picture was probably taken in Davenport by one of Esther's sisters.

Esther would move with her family to Minnesota about 1912, become a nurse and serve in WWI, marry Herman Lundholm, a music teacher, and move with him to Superior Wisconsin.

    Wow, this is an excellent picture! Don't you think that this photo was probably taken in a professional studio (doesn't that kind of look like a portrait backdrop)?

      It does look like a professional portrait backdrop. There are several like this. Remember though - these aren't scanned pictures - they are scanned from the Paulson family collection of glass negatives. About this time, Amy Paulson worked for a photography supply company so perhaps she had access to professional supplies or space. Next week's photo is the pre-pose picture of this one.
