Tribulations of Family Photography: uncooperative family members

Uncooperative family members, Davenport, Iowa, circa 1909
One suspects that this photo session is a "wash". The boys in this picture are probably the twin sons of Olof Swenson, Elliot and Emmett Swenson (born in 1904). I'm estimating they are about 5 in this picture, thus dating the picture to circa 1909.  (That might be Olaf Swenson trying to get them under control - but I thought he had less hair!)

Olof built a house for his parents, Anders and Bengta Swenson behind his own house on Belle Avenue  in Davenport, Iowa about 1904. In this picture, the house on the left is probably the Anders/Bengta house, while the steps on the right probably belong to the Olof Swenson house.
