| Gustav Emil Peterson and Oscar Alvin Peterson, Calhoun County, Texas, 1908 |
In this, the fifth picture in the series, again we see the two boys Gustav and
Oscar Peterson standing in the barn yard in the Olivia area (Calhoun County) Texas. Gustav, the elder, holds a cup. While Oscar stands with his hand on his hat. The woman who can just barely be seen in the background may be their
mother, Ellen Cavallin Peterson. (You will find a better picture of Ellen in the post “EllenPeterson milks her cow".
Note the steady flow of water through the uncapped pipe. In an earlier post, "Water from the well", I talked about artesian wells in the Olivia area. That may be what we are seeing in this picture (and the last post also).

Im really enjoying all the shots of the kids working around the farm. Makes me feel better for making my girls help me around our land :)
