More early "swim suits" Circa 1910

Nellie, Esther, Ruth (?), and Edna Paulson go "bathing" cira 1910
Our young lady "bathers" in this picture are wearing bloomers, tucked in white short sleeve blouses, and white caps (bonnets?).  Based on the hat, I originally believed that the person 2nd from the right was their younger brother, Paul, but on closer inspection, I believe it to be the youngest of the sisters, Ruth.

Based on the apparent ages of the family members, this picture was probably made near Davenport Iowa, around 1910, or in western Minnesota, slightly later. The Paulson family lived in Davenport Iowa until about 1912, when they moved first to a farm near Arco, Minnesota, then to a farm near Marshall, Minnesota. And soon thereafter to a farm in Chisago County in eastern Minnesota.  But that is all a tale that will be told a little later.

This negative is in poor condition. Damp, dirt, and decay have reduced its visibility. Yet there is still information and interest to be found in this 100 year old image.
